Allotments

 

There are 28 allotments located in a central village location (behind the village car park opposite the Primary School on New Road).

 

(There are also 34 farmers allotments located on Church Lane).  

 

The Allotment Committee are responsible for the  day to day running of the allotments.

 

Please contact the Clerk if you are interested in taking on an allotment although there is currently a waiting list.

Allotment Rules and Regulations

General Maintenance

 

The Parish Council is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the village including the street lights.  If you would like to report any issues, please contact the Clerk.

Maintenance of the roads, for example dealing with potholes, is the responsibility of the County Council Highways Department. Please report any issues to the Clerk or report potholes directly via Norfolk County Council's online reporting: Report a problem - Norfolk County Council

Planning

Parish Councils have the right to make comments on planning applications affecting their area although the overall decision is the District Councils.

 

The application will be considered by the Parish Council at the next Council meeting and will feature on the agenda as an item to be discussed unless timescales mean it has to be considered outside of a meeting. 

 

Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings and may speak during the public participation item on the agenda to give their views on a planning application.  They are also encouraged to provide their own comments on Broadland's planning pages.

Village Hall​

The Village Hall is managed by a committee but the Parish Council are responsible for the play area and grounds.     

Mobile Library​

 

The mobile library service visits Hevingham regularly.  You can find details below of the timetable by looking up Hevingham in the alphabetical listing: Mobile libraries - Norfolk County Council

Play Area​

 

The play area is located within the Village Hall grounds on Brick Kiln Road.

Village Green

 

The Parish Council is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Village Green, including the grass cutting and upkeep of the surrounding posts and picnic bench.

Police

 

The Parish Council maintain links with the Police and encourage parishioners to regularly check the local Police website for information and crime prevention advice: Aylsham | Police.uk (www.police.uk).
